I knew that once I heard about brussel sprout tacos, I needed to try this spot. I was lucky enough to be Christina's +1 after last minute plans fell through, so we ended a wonderful day of eating and city exploring here at Dirt Candy.

I'm not usually one that skips out on meat when given the option in any eating scenario. I love my salads with a healthy serving of chicken and enjoy a juicy steak whenever I can.

The brussel sprout tacos are a must. Hell, next time, I'll even order it for myself (it's for two, but you know...). Unfortunately, the other dishes fell a little flat. While I enjoyed the bits of rainbow cauliflower, I couldn't get over the overpowering ginger-y taste of the cauliflower dumplings.

It was definitely a different experience, and I appreciated the creativity of the dishes that were prepared. Then again, not everyone's palates are the same, so for you vegetarians and vegans, head on over for a taste. Be prepared to drop some $!

I'm free?

I guess what I'm trying to say here is that I finally mustered up the courage to seek different opportunities. I'm taking this time to recharge, relax, and regain some control over my life and my career.

Take risks, do what you can do at this age, because it'll only get harder later on. I don't know where this journey is going to take me, but here's to new beginnings and newer opportunities.

{china through the looking glass}

A beautiful day is not to be wasted indoors unless it's at one of the many museums in the city. We readily took advantage of the day, first grabbing bagels with lox to-go from Barney Greengrass, which were delicious but on the pricey side. Afterwards, we decided to meander around the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

I love the little architectural details that are sprinkled throughout the halls and in every room.

Of course, this was immediately following the Met Gala for the opening of China Through the Looking Glass, so we were greeted by flocks of people, all walking shoulder to shoulder to get from room to room. Nonetheless, we were able to enjoy the exhibit despite all of the bodily contact.

{Sidenote: Please excuse these grainy photos — I unfortunately forgot to bring my camera.}

To my dismay, the rooftop was just a few days shy of reopening to the public, but I will most definitely be back when the weather warms up, next time also equipped with my camera, to enjoy  the rooftop installations and a nice, cold drink.
